Let’s face it, sometimes life throws a surprise party without asking if you even liked them. You expected one child and got two. You thought that friendly mom at the school wouldn’t become your bestie and now your kids are inseparable. Meet ups are fun and important social activities for you and your baby, but at the same time, why do they need to involve so much work in terms of gear? I’ve had entire lengths of conversations at the back of cars just with how long it’s taken to get multiple strollers out from the trunk, all the bags and toys of the day all squared away…only to constantly be annoyed by just how much space we all took up in amusement parks.

My sister and I love to go everywhere together, but she has two kids and usually one of them sits perched on her back in a child carrier that eventually makes her feel like Atlas with the world on her back. While doing research for lightweight jogging strollers, I decided to put her out of misery by introducing her to the world of double jogging strollers.

And introduce it to her is exactly what she got when we met up for some Cedar Point fun and I busted out the very first double jogging stroller that she ever saw. Our usual lengths long conversation was cut in half because of how quickly I popped that bad boy open and put all her stuff in it and got both her babies situated in both the seats. The relief was palpable since she was sure that she’d have to lug her daughter around on her back all day again.

Double Jogging Stroller Reviews

“Whoa now, why would I even need something like this?”

Simple answer? Necessity AND creativity. Double jogging strollers are a necessity for the active parent with twins or multiple kids with close ages, but also a creative alternative to you and your bestie having two strollers between the two of you when you go out. Why not have one if you’re going to end up constantly hanging out anyway? The main appeal of a double jogging stroller is how it allows you to carry multiple babies at once without the strain of having one either on your shoulder or carried in front of you. When you’re jogging or wandering around an amusement park, you can’t have a child carrier doing the work that a double stroller can take care of.

Though my sister got her double jogging stroller off me (hey, she paid me with cooking me dinner one night), the fruits of my research were still fresh in my mind and unfortunately in my apartment so I decided to fill you in on the top 10 double jogging strollers that I came across and why I think they’ll make great additions to your household!

So as I say often, let’s get into it!

The first double jogging stroller to make the list is the Revolution Pro by BOB Gear. BOB gear is a prominent company that makes some of the most sturdy double jogging strollers out there!

The Revolution Pro is BOB’s most luxury jogging stroller that the company offers. It can handle jogging both on and off roads with relative ease, making it great for both parents and young children who enjoy going both on and off the beaten path.

Additionally, the Revolution Pro features a hand-activated rear brake system and adjustable handlebar that allow parents of any height range to have full control of the safety of their children regardless of the slope of the path they’re currently on.

Lastly, the Revolution Pro is fully compatible with the BOB Duallie Infant Car Seat (and reportedly some other infant car seats, too!) for parents that wish to have their newborns out and about early on. Unfortunately, the infant car seat is sold separately!

Pros

  • Can be used from birth to 50 pounds for both children, though infants under eight weeks will need the appropriate compatible car seats
  • Fully modular, adjustable setup makes handling by anyone a breeze
  • Amazing tires and brake system

Cons

  • On the fairly pricey side, unfortunately, but has a lot of really premium features, so that’s not too unexpected

The second double jogging stroller by BOB already! The Revolution Flex is very similar to the Revolution Pro in a lot of ways, but stands out notably in a few regards.

Firstly, the Revolution Flex does not come with a handbrake as part of the handlebar system. This isn’t a super big deal, but it should be noted that the Revolution Pro’s handbrake is incredibly useful for jogging up and down hills when you’re pushing your 30lb+ children around!

However, unlike the Revolution Pro which caps out at a maximum recommended weight of 50lbs, the Revolution Flex is capable of holding up to 70lbs!

Otherwise, many features are shared. The handlebar itself is fully adjustable to you and your partner’s height. The Revolution Flex also includes the ability to hold compatible infant car seats with the adapter sold separately.

Pros

  • Adjustments you can make with BOB Gear strollers are always really solid
  • Tires and mountain bike suspension make the double jogging stroller easy to maneuver regardless of your size and physical strength
  • Fantastic jogging experience

Cons

  • Nearly as costly as the Revolution Pro, but not with quite as many features
  • Not great for down slopes due to missing a hand brake. Doable, but requires more strength to control safely

Number three! Another BOB double stroller! Surprised?

The third and last BOB double jogging stroller on the list, the BOB Stroller Strides is another great stroller by BOB out there.

What’s the difference between the BOB Stroller Strides and Revolution Flex models, you ask?

Well…nothing really. They’re more or less the same identical strollers, with the exception of additional Stroller Strides branding and a few select additional goodies included with this one.

For example, the BOB Stroller Strides includes fitness bands, the handlebar console, and fitness class coupons. Yeah… That’s basically it.

(Otherwise, the stroller is almost exactly the same as the previous one, but we at Delicious Comfort really couldn’t miss another chance to say how much we love the BOB double strollers, right?)

Pros

  • All of the same pros as the BOB gear Flex model above

Cons

  • All of the same cons as the BOB gear Flex model above

The first double jogging stroller on this list that isn’t by BOB Gear is the Baby Jogger 2016 Summit X3 Double Jogging Stroller.

Firstly, one of the things that we’re happy to see return is the included handbrake. These things are invaluable for jogging along paths that slope both upward and downward, especially if you’re jogging with heavier children in tow!

Secondly, the combined weight total maximum for this double jogging stroller is 100lbs. That matches the 50 pounds per side of the BOB gear model above, and ties for one of the highest available among all double jogging strollers.

Lastly, infant car seats are unfortunately not compatible with this stroller for parents that intended on jogging with newborn children. The upside is that many other parents have reported being able to strap their three month old infants in with no problems at all.

Pros

  • 100 pound maximum weight limit
  • Hand brakes are always a fantastic option for added control and safety
  • Sturdy build overall!

Cons

  • Cannot seat infants, as it’s not compatible with car seats

The next double jogging stroller on the list is the Urban Glide 2 by Thule.

The main appeal of this double jogging stroller over some of the others on this list is its ability to fold fairly compactly. Most double jogging strollers are massive, and stay somewhat massive regardless of the way they fold.

The design of the seats themselves are very ergonomic as well. The incline of both are perfect for children that like to sleep while you’re out zooming away with them.

However, this isn’t the best for more curious children as the recline of the seat doesn’t really allow children to sit upright very well without straining to hold themselves up.

The seats are also much smaller than some other double jogging strollers out there, which may effect older toddlers as well.

Pros

  • Ergonomic, compact design looks and folds fantastically
  • Less space needed to store than other double jogging strollers
  • Nice reclining seat angles for any children prone to sleeping on strolls outside

Cons

  • No hand brake
  • Inclined design may not be the best for younger children who can’t support themselves well and want to view their surroundings

The Baby Trend Navigator Double Jogger Stroller is the next double jogging stroller on the list!

Easily the best of the budget options, the Baby Trend Navigator includes a bunch of really nice features that come with a price that won’t break the bank compared to the double jogging strollers above.

First of all, the Navigator has the ability to house two infant car seats, making it perfect for parents of newborn twins. While the manufacturers suggest to only use the Baby Trend infant car seats for compatibility purposes, some parents have also noted that select other brands do work as well.

Secondly, the fact that this jogging stroller includes two locking wheels up front makes jogging with this stroller a fairly sturdy, pleasant experience. The downside to two wheels, however, is that it also makes it nigh impossible to turn for sharp corners.

Pros

  • Cheap compared to other double jogging strollers
  • Sturdy enough to jog with two kids for the price point
  • Great for newborn twins due to being compatible with double infant car seats

Cons

  • No hand brake included
  • Pieces and materials are somewhat cheap compared to higher priced double jogging strollers out there

Last but not least, we have the second double jogging stroller by Baby Trend. The Navigator Lite is yet another valid budget option that shares many of the same features as the original Navigator form.

The main difference comes from the fact that the Navigator Lite has a single front wheel that can, and should, lock in a fixed position. This makes it more maneuverable than any model with four wheels, but does come with the caveat of a tad less stability.

Still, for anyone heavily considering a budget double jogging stroller for their children, and wants to run consistently, the turns using a single wheel are great!

Thus, if you don’t want to break the bank, yet want a double jogging stroller that can work great for you, then this one might be the best option for you.

Pros

  • Cheaper than the majority of other double jogging strollers
  • One front wheel makes for great control while jogging and needing to make tight turns

Cons

  • No hand brake, unfortunately
  • As with the two-wheeled Navigator above, the materials and overall quality aren’t as solid as the higher-priced double jogging strollers, but this is to be expected for the price

Frequently Asked Questions About Double Jogging Strollers

What are Double Jogging Strollers?

Double Jogging strollers are rugged, all-terrain strollers made for parents on the go with multiple bundles of joy in their care! They can be used for walking like any other stroller or lock in that fixed wheel and it can steadily go on a brisk jog for the ultimate workout with your babies snoozing on happily without a care in the world

Why Should I Consider Purchasing a Double Jogging Stroller?

Double jogging strollers are an obvious buy for active parents of twins given that you’ll need a two-seater regardless, but it’s also a good buy for parents that have an extended family with kids or a close friend with a kid of their own. The less you need to tackle multiple strollers the better in my opinion! On a technical standpoint, regular strollers can’t handle whenever you go on anything less than a perfect sidewalk and having that option means more places become available for you and your babies. So whether just to the grocery store, around the block, or that crowded Disneyland, double jogging strollers have you covered.

Are Double Jogging Strollers Worth It?

If you have multiple bundles of joy, you can’t live without it! Just as I couldn’t live without single jogging strollers, I personally can’t go back to a regular stroller. Besides the fact that some of them have the baby in the exact same position as a traditional stroller, the wheels and suspension systems make all the difference. The rides are smoother, which means they are longer and that’s great for you and your little ones. Getting out and about is great!

Are Double Jogging Strollers Safe?

Of course they are! As safe as any stroller, all of them have to go through a rigid safety inspection before being released on the market. Most strollers even come with stickers and emblems on their packaging just to show how safety certified they are. Accidents can happen with any stroller though, so always err on the side of caution. If anything feels weird with your double jogging stroller, don’t hesitate to contact the manufacturer!

How Long Can My Child Use a Double Jogging Stroller?

The general answer: for as long as any other stroller. The specific? That depends entirely on the double jogging stroller that you’ve chosen. Each stroller has the exact specifications listed for the maximum baby weight with the average being around 50lbs per child, but even then if your baby or child wants to explore the world on their own two feet that may be the end of your usage! Until they get tired and need to take a nap that is!

Can My Children Sleep in a Double Jogging Stroller?

Due to their all-terrain wheels, the double jogging stroller doesn’t jostle around as much as the average stroller does. Therefore, babies tend to sleep more soundly since it’s smooth sailing. Of course it’s all dependent on your babies since if they are the ultimate factors in whether or not they will sleep anywhere.

Not every baby can sleep in a rapidly moving stroller, after all!
